So I am designing a manifold out of 1" stainless pipe. the ID is around 1.0979"= 27mm, now I want to add a branch off this not a coupling, but anotehr piece of the same size pipe. My question is whats the best way to join them. I am not sure if I would make a large hole in the long pipe and try to push the shorter pipe into the longer one of cut out a groove on the smaller one as you can see in pic and then weld around. operating pressure around 5psi, up to 30psi. Also how would you cut that groove around the pipe if thats the best option??
