Sent a servo n 3412 hooAa for repair. When it came back I mounted it, 4 screws and plugged in cables. Powered up machine. Normally servo motor will open machine to home. This time it closed. Do not want to call repair company and accuse but there wad little to install

Found a used motor. Connected and powered up. Ran as expected. Something must be crossed in the repaired servo motor.

It could be the encoder is wired backward. I mean AB and Z inputs need swapped? (Z) directional bit is faulty?

I know in some servo configs you can do a rotational test to verify rotation and can just swap in config to run correct direction.

Thank you so much. The encoder is what they quoted replacing. so now I will contact them. So glad you guys are here to help those of us with little experience muddle through things. thanks all

3 phase? Any chance two leads in the new connector to the 3phase supply are swapped?
