Can I import 2D CAD files directly into Patran?

Hello,

I am trying to simulate a 2D test case and was wondering if I could import 2D geometry from a 2D CAD software, when I looked inside of the import menu on Patran I only saw 3D import methods such as STEP, STL, Pro-Engineer, etc... Is this even possible or will I have to manually create the points and generate a mesh from there?

You can import a 2D IGES file
