Can an Arc length be dimensioned? 1

Hi All,

As the subject suggests I want to dimension an arc length. I realise i can measure the arc length using the measure tool. But I want to create an equation that can address the length of the arc, in this case it happens to be a compound arc.

There are the work arounds of using a geometry and circle sectors. Was just wondering.

You can't dimension to an arc (like an ellipse), that isn't a true arc (like a circle).

Maybe if you used API you could get the information out for you to use, but I'm not sure it would work for you.

Arc length dimensioning: select each endpoint of the arc and then the arc curve segment.

I've done this many times for sheet metal neutral axis bend length development. I've also used the reulting dimension (usually driven) in equations.

To clarify The Tick.... click 3 times, end point, other end point, and arc segment
