We are starting a flow calibration to support the Aerospace industries locally. Anyone can advice me on what fluid to use for indoor(air-conditioned room) testing? What is the range of flow meter usually used in Aerospace industries & what is the accuracy required?

Thanks

Our calibration dept uses praffin (clear) on their flow bench.
As to the range of the flow meter it depends on the type of Aerospace Industrie you have around you (It could range from 100's litre/min for aircraft pumps to less than 1 l/m for sensors etc). You will do no better then to ask them, this will at least tell you if you have a market for your (proposed) service and they should be able to give you a starting point for the size and accuracy required.
You could try taking a look on the web for what products they make, it may give you some basic info on the equipment they make.

Hi,

We actually have a list of instruments from one of our client on the details of their flow meter. Do we have to use the same oil as they are using for calibration? If not what are the correction to make? Is there any standard to follow on the correction?

Example of details provided,
Flowmeter Size 0.5"
Calibration Details 10 points@1.29 cst
Flow range calibrated 1 - 30 gpm Solvent
Calibration Fluid type MIL-C-7024D Type II

They have different type of flowmeters using different fluid. Is there a standard fluid to use to calibration all types of flowmeters?
