Greetings FEA gods

I am familiar with the use of calculix on windows.

Has anyone managed to get calculix running on a Debian system?

I have tried the general installation from the terminal:
sudo apt install calculix-ccx
sudo apt install calculix-cgx

However after that I am not sure what to do, as the program seems to differ when compared to the windows version.

I also have the .deb files which I have not used as yet, however I assume that the installation through the .deb will produce the same results as the terminal

Not a direct answer, but it may help you: CAElinux has Calculix installed with the distro, so you could download that, install and use it off the bat. CAElinux is based on Xubuntu which in turn has its roots in Debian.
