Hi,

lets say I have a beam with I-cross-section I need to connect to column according to EC3-1-8. In this code first of all resistances of each row of bolts are calculated. Then sum of these resistances have to be less or equal to resistance of beam flange in compression. If it is not reduction of bolt resistances have to be made. This is true for bending moment acts in plane of the beam web. But how are the requirements for bending moment acts perpendiculary to the beam web ?
