Greetings Everyone,
I am a new design engineer want to know how to calculate the width and the hight of of the reinforcing pads of the legs support of a vertical pressure vessel.

Thanks

Googling that exact question led to 4-5 answers pretty easily. I'd suggest doing that or using the search function on here.

Also, the answer can change significantly based on the vessel you are building. Is there a reason you are using legs instead of a skirt?

I actually searched but didn’t find the answer. Using the legs as per client request

Hi what code are you working too, it should tell you how to do it in the code

1) No pad is required in some designs. Try to avoid pads.
2) See Process Industry Practices PIP VEFV 1111, 1112 and 1113.
3) See Pressure Vessel Design Manual 4th Edit. by Dennis Moss.
