Calculating Superheat 1

I am replacing the control system on an industrial ammonia refrigeration system. The old system displayed a "superheat" value in degrees K. I don't have access to the code that calculated this superheat value. I have looked at the T/P charts, but I am still not sure what to calculate for displaying this value. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!! RB

You will need a pressure sensor and a temperature sensor at the same point.

From the pressure reading look up the corresponding saturated temperature from your pressure vs. temperature chart.

Actual temperature - saturated temperature = superheat.

I'd guess suction, but that's really going to depend on what the value is being used for.
