Hi everyone,
Normally when calculating the probability of false alarm (PFA) and probability of (PD) of a radar system for a known SNR I use tables in literature, as existing of course for all types of targets. But currently, I try to figure out how to calculate them by myself. I assume the only way to do it, taking into account also the targets fluctuations (for example Swerling), is statistical signal analysis. I'm also motivated to do this because I would like to understand better the performance of incoherent summation.
Basically my question is, let's say I know the SNR of my system is 10 dB and assuming I have a Swerling 1 target, how can I use this information to generate let say 1e5 realization of signal power and noise power I can use to calculate PFA and PD.
Thsnks a lot in advance!
