Hi Guys,

The question is pretty much in the topic.

I need to select some actuators for the ailerons and ruddervator on a project I'm working on. The actuators need to be able to operate during the aircrafts most testing flight conditions.

So how do I determine what load will be experienced by the actuator (control surface)?

Thanks

You obviously need the pressure loads on the control surfaces.

It all depend on the way your flight control system is designed and several aircraft parameters. If you are working in a professional design group, then the guys in flight physics should be able to tell the worst in-flight handling maneuvering that gives the most severe loading inline with the current Aircraft design regulations.
