HOW DO I CALCULATE A SPILLWAY (WEIR) TO RELEASE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF CFS?

the weir equation (simple version)is:
Q=C*L*H^3/2

Q is flow, L is length, H is head, C is weir coefficient
for broad crested concrete weirs (eg. roadways)
C is about 2.6

Equations to specific weir types and shapes can
easily be found in hydraulic books or on the net.
