Looking to set up a temporary dichloromethane (DCM) scrubber, due to the long lead time on the permanent installation. State is requiring us to forcast the amount of emissions this temp. unit will capture. This scrubber is new to use, we used to directly emit to the air, and were able to calculate the emissions using a simple mass balalnce. Does anyone know of calculation using PPM, molecular wieght, and CFMs to figure a lbs/day emission forecast??? I am no IH master, looking for some guidance please. Thank you in advance

You may already have the answer but a general emission rate equation is based upon the following formula.

ER = ppm * Mw * Qs * 1.557E-7

Where ER = lbs/hr
ppm = ppmdv
Qs = stack gas volumetric flow at 1 atm and 68 degF at associated humidity (DSCFM)
1.557E-7 wrapped up conversion factor using ideal gas law and conversion constants.
