Hi,

I am trying to calculate how much water will require to reduce the temperature of my gas flow from 1911 F to 1200 F

i have gas flow of 1448 SCFM and i am trying to reduce its temperature through water quenching.

can anyone tell me how i can use sesible heat of water and latent heat of water. becoz water will also change its phase from liquid to vapor.

Thank you,

Process Design and Engineering Practice by Donald R. Woods (Prentice Hall) ISBN 0-13-805755-9, treats the subject with examples for direct contact heat and mass transfer.
