Hi
I am new to ProE.I have a requirement wherein i need to calculate the net paint area for a assembly(which is till now being achieved by calculating total area and subtracting the hidden surfaces area). I tried converting the assembly file to iges file and using Analysis->Measure->Area but it is not giving the desired results. Can anyone help in this??

Thanks
Soha

Have you tried making a shrinkwrap model of the assyto measure on?

Yes i have tried to use the shrinkwrap option but the action is getting aborted. It is not completing the operation.

There is another option that is more time consuming.

Use copy geometry and use "surface and boundary" method to select all external surfaces. Unfortunately this can only be done at one component at time.
