Hi Everyone,
I am using IEEE-RTS(1996) data to simulate the unit commitment problem. Ramp rate is given in MW/minute in the paper. I know minimum down/up time too. I tried to find these following ways but they are different from other resource, I refer to.
How can I calculate the ramp up and down limit (MW) of the generators from these data?
E.g. Ramp rate of U76 (coal) => 2 MW/min
MDT : 4 hr, MUT : 8 hr
-------------------------------------------------
i) ramp up/down limit = 2 MW/min * 60 = 120 MW/hr
ii) ramp up limit = (2*60)/MUT = 30 MW/hr
ramp down limit = (2*60)/MDT = 15 MW/hr
-------------------------------------------------
From reference;
ramp up of U76 is '32' MW and ramp down is '0'.
