Is there any way to calculate the preconsolidation pressure with only the soil properties?
I can estimate the Compression and Recompression ratios, as well as the void ratios. I also have the initial and final soil stress. Is there a formula which will calculate the preconsolidation pressure with all the givens that I have.
Also, does the preconsolidation pressure increase linearly as the depth in the soil increases? If so, would this linear increase in pressure be the same in each layer? For example, if in soil 1 the max. past pressure was 50 and it increased at 1 psi/foot. So then in soil 2 which is 25 feet below would the max. past pressure be 75? Or does the preconsolidation pressure depend on the soil properties and will therefore change with each change in layer?
