hi,

I am doing analysis for underground pipe gas, after put all the soil data and run the analysis, without put any restraint/support in the underground pipe, as I know the soil itself will hold the pipe expansion and any movement.

however my client ask for anchor to be put at the tie in point, and later after I said this is unnecessary, they ask me to remove the anchor.

my problem now is, how am I going to explain this in engineering terms in the report?. I know this is kind of stupid question, but I am currently blank and my language also put limit to my brief explanation.

The thing you need to do is calculate the movement and stresses in the pipeline and pipework at the end of the pipeline.

This often means that you need to model some pipework beyond the tie-in point.
