CAE saving slowly

I recently created a few large models, and tried saving the CAE file. Abaqus has been working for nearly 24 hours to save the CAE file. It is constantly using 1 of my 8 CPUs and 27 GB RAM (out of 32 in total). The resulting CAE file is about 2GB large, which is large but not impossibly large. I have made similar CAEs in the past, which saved in about 15 minutes.

Is there anything that I can change in my Abaqus or computer settings to speed up saving?
