I have a lisp program to draw
gears if you are interested.
I also have some lisp programs to
simulate a hob cutting a gear.
Also have several internal shaper
and external shaper programs which
simulate a shaper cutter.
I have several acad drawings with
the basic involute for 20 degrees and
another one for 25 degrees and are
drawn on ten inch diameters. I often
insert these into a drawing, scale them
accordling, rotate them clockwise of ccw
depending on whether I am drawing internal
or external teeth or spaces. I then draw
in the od dia. and root dia. and trim the
profiles, mirror them, and enter a fillet
radius. I do not know how to attach files
on this forum. You may e-mail me at
j.geisey@juno.com and I will reply as
you wish. Mike Bull has put out some
good information in excell spread sheet form.
I wish others were sharing as well. You
can tell the old timers by their willingness
to share. Happy Gearing
