Cable Element : Validation? Books?

Is there any books for discussing the cable element?
Is there any recommended validation for cable element? NAFEMS??
Is there any good examples for modeling cables like sagging, how many mesh, and vibration modes?

I am curious to the cable element, since likely every FEA has own variables on cable element, like SAP2000, GT STRUDL, or big blown FEA.
