Why butterfly valve named has BUTTERFLY..?

Because it looks like the wing of a butterfly?

The disc of the valve is center-mounted on the shaft; as LI said, it looks (loosely) similar to the wings of a butterfly.

Because if you don't torque the bolts to spec, it might fly away.
