Dear all,

I'm a mechanical engineer and have a civil question!

Can we bury a 6" HDPE pipe below the seabed in a sandy soil at a depth of 20-30 cm? (this is for a seawater intake system feeding a desalination plant)
Also what supports will the pipeline need to prevent sinking more in sand?

appreciate your professional advice,

Regards,

generally would prefer at least 50 cm cover over any pipe and underwater would like more. would also need to consider scour protection. suggest maybe anchoring and protecting the pipe with ACB mattress
