Bulk modulus of LPG

Hello,

I am looking for the bulk modulus of butane and propane to perform a water hammer analysis. Any idea? After searching in Internet, Perry's, etc I have found nothing...

You can calculate it from the accoustic velocities
which are,

Propane 2000-2500 fps
Isobutane 2200-2800 fps
N-butane 3100-3700 fps

at 68ºF and 200 psiA

I was going to give you the same advice that BigInch gave you. The NIST webbook gives you sound velocities c [m/s], and the liquid densities [ρ] [kg/m³], at the conditions you wish.

Using metric units, the bulk modulus Y [kg/m²] is estimated from:

Y = c² [×] [ρ] [÷] 9.8 m/s²​
