I am designing a shallow cut and cover tunnel. The roof slab will have to support a few building. Could building engineers advise what are the typical vertical area loads per floor of concrete or steel frame buildings? Appreciate your help!

Not really understanding the question. There really are not "typical" loads. Dead and Live loads vary greatly depending on the application.

Do you have an idea of what structural system is intended for these buildings, and their use?

Conservatively you could allow for:
10" slab = 125psf
partitions/services = 20psf
live load = 50psf
Allow for external brick walls = 80psf

Total = 275psf per floor.

I would advise you to put a note on your drawings saying what load you have allowed for as it is possible for building loads to exceed these (though unlikely)

Light framing could be half this value.

csd, careful before you put "conservatively". He never mentioned what the usage is. It could be storage or mechanical where you are very unconservative.

Good point,

yakpol, that was for a typical domestic/office building. Other uses may have a bigger live and dead load.
