how can i calculate bucling lenght of column.do we also have to calculate it for beams.i know that sap2000 can calculate it automaticly but i want to write it in program manuel. thank you for your help

Do you mean for steel design or are you trying to use the eigenvalue buckling analysis feature?
 
yes I am talking about steel design.
 
Are you trying to figure out how SAP calculates this height? I don't understand the question.

i know that sap2000 can calculate buckling of the columns and beams.i want learn to where should i see check it.where can i learn whether my column is a bubling problem or not.where should i check it.if i have a buckling problem what should i do.
