Hi everyone,
I’m working on a linear buckling analysis of a BR-RBS (Buckling-Restrained - Reduced Beam Section) steel connection using ABAQUS. The model includes interactions between Restraining Part and beam , and I need to define contact between them (surface-to-surface contact).
However, it seems that ABAQUS does not allow contact definitions in Linear Buckling (eigenvalue) analysis. I understand that this analysis type is purely linear and cannot handle contact or nonlinear effects.
My questions are:
Is there any method to include the effects of contact in a buckling study?
Thanks in advance for your support.
