Hi,
I'm looking for some advice on the new buckling analysis methods of ASME VIII Div 2 edition 2023. I am currently designing a tangential nozzle/header assembly that is subjected to external pressure.

Method A is "intended for use on independant component", so my choice was to go for method B. However, Method A also states that it "can be used when assessing two
or more components as an assembly". So do i go directly for method B, or am i supposed to do method A first and then, if it fails, go for method B in this configuration?

Thanks in advance.

There is no applicable capacity reduction factor for this geometry. Go straight to Method B.
