Hello.
I have been using ABAQUS CAE for mechanical analysis at college. I have come to a problem.
I have a two-axis testing subject which we want to control using linear perturbation -> buckling, so we get first 10 eigen values. The subject is supported (fixed) on two ends and load is applied as pressure to two end surfaces (shown on picture).

So we get several eigenvalues (the first one is shown on the picture) and the problem, that i am facing is that i can't specify that the subject item can only bend (buckle) or deform only to the limit of these plates on each side. The goal is to display tension that occurs because of this block/plate. The static analysis is supposed to be made as general static analysis by Riks in abaqus. I know, that the eigenvalue that i get is supposed to be used as load in static analysis step, but i have hard time understanding, why does the test subject goes straight through plates.

Test subject and plates are around 0.5 mm apart (they are not in contact in initial conditions). I have tried using interactions but it doesn't work or at least not the way i expected.
