buckling analysis

I need to perform a buckling simulation in Ansys Mechanical to determine where and at what force a specific body will fail. My components consist of an ejector or shaft (200 mm) that is guided halfway into a component with a diameter approximately 1 mm larger than that of the shaft. The end of the ejector should be fixed, meaning no axial displacement is allowed. The force is applied to the head of the ejector.

I initially tried using Eigenvalue Buckling, but no matter how I defined the contact regions, the shaft always deflected into the guide as if the guide did not exist.

My second approach was to apply a slight lateral force and use a Static Structural analysis to identify the buckling point and critical buckling force based on extreme deformation/deflection. Unfortunately, I was also unsuccessful with this. I've been struggling with this for way too long...

Can someone please help me?

Is there a contact analysis that is part of this?

maybe post in the ANSYS forum ?
