Hello:
I'd like to know to find out how many 3/4" s/steel pipes I would need to heat a 55gal. drum of parifin wax (wt. 335#)to 176 deg.F from room temp. of 68 deg.in 2 hours.
The pipes are filled with water at 200 deg.and ciculated by a pump at 2.3 gpm
The pipes are 3/4" by the length of the barrel (appox. 36"long)

How do you plan to physically tie the pipe heater to the drum?

Have you looked at any of the hundreds of off the shelf strap-on heaters available?

The only arrangement using hot water to heat drums was in a well insulated room that used hot water radiators with a fan for good circulation.
