I was surfing the web and looking for the meaning on the subject and I came to the ENG-TIPS webpage and into this forum.

I'm not sure if this the right forum for this inquiry.

My question is ' What does BSC mean dimensions on mechanical drawings and what is its tolerance.'

I was told I can get the answer on ASME ANSI 14.5M -1994 but it cost $125 to get this doc.

Thanks in advance.

Hi georgedaw

What dimension does it relate to? If its an imperial thread
it may mean "British Standard Course"

Hi Desertfox,

Thanks for your fast response.

On Jedec Solid State product outlines, BSC is both on metric and english dimensions.

BSC per AMSE Y14.5-1994 represents a "basic" dimension. A basic dimension is one that has no tolerance. It consists of a dimension inside of a box. The tolerance will be specified in the feature control block where the feature is called out.
