BS EN 10216, BS EN 10224 & BS EN 1092-1 - Material grade selection

Our client wishes for several piping specifications to be to BS EN standards.
For a PN16 system, max pressure 10 barg, max temperature of 40 deg C conveying process water/ cooling water.
Can anyone point out which grades of carbon steel to use with BS EN 10216 (Seamless steel tubes), BS EN 10224 (Non-alloy steel tubes and fittings) and BS EN 1092-1 (Flanges).

BS EN 10216 lists the following grades P195, P235 & P265.
BS EN 10224 lists the following grades L235, L275 & L335.
BS EN 1092-1 lists the following grades P245GH and many others.

Is there a standard I can look at that groups the materials together like the ASME codes?
Or is there someone on this forum that has the experience with the above standards that is able to point me in the right direction?

In EN1092 are tables for comparisation of materials(table 5a and 5b) and at the end of EN1092 part two are the material groups to use.

I have BS EN 1092-1:2007 and BS EN 1092-2:1997.
There doesn't seem to be a table 5a or 5b in BS EN 1092-1:2007.
When I look in he back of BS EN 1092-1 under Annex D table D1 Additional materials it gives ASME SA 106 B as group 1E0, ASME SA 105 as group 3E0.
For the flanges it seems material P245GH, P235GH and P265GH fall under group 3E0 materials - so I'm still unsure which material to specify.


Still what about the pipes and fittings? I have called up two suppliers and they say they work in ASTM grades.

I'm still stuck...

I have the 2001 version,maybe it's different.
Can't you copy a water pipespec. from another company for your new client?
You can probably find a cs waterspec. anywhere in your former projects.

Thanks Europipe, that table is now referenced as Table 9 in BS EN 1092-1:2007.
I have selected material grade 265TR2 for the pipe BS EN 10216, L275 for fittings BS EN 10224, and P245GH for the flanges BS EN 1092-1.
