Broken Precast Piles

If a precast drive pile is broken I would normally have a pile driven either side and form a cap over the origional pile. A piling contractor recently had a broken pile and drove a new pile in tight to the origional (1No.).

As I see it I now need to check the foundations ground beam which is now longer and supporting a return ground beam at its end.

Are there any other issues I should be aware of?

You have to check the beams, and also the load distribution to the piles will be a bit different.

I doubt this solution can be adequately analysed. For driven piles there should be a spacing between piles of 3x diameter (I think 3x perimeter if square). How do the driving records of the pile driven tight to the broken pile compare to other nearby piles?
