Hi,
How could I bring an Excel file into a drawing?

Thanks

What I need is to bring an Excel table into a drawing view or directly on the sheet.
Thanks a agin...

I haven't had alot of success with big tables, but the process is fairly simple and works well for small spreadsheets.

One way is to just copy the spreadsheet and paste in into a View or Sheet of the drawing. I believe that links it to the spreadsheet, so changes to the spreadsheet will automatically appear on the drawing.

A better way is to save the spreadsheet as a .csv file first. In the drawing, use INSERT + ANNOTATIONS + TABLE + TABLE FROM CSV to copy the spreasheet onto the drawing.

Thanks a lot, Jackk!

did you try both ways? so which method works best in your situation?

The first one you sugested doesn't work!
The other one creates connection between the original Excel file and the inserted file from Annotations.
Not to bad, but it misses some features (under Component Part Number, from 1 to 7 items).
You know what I mean?
Can you bring the attached Excel file in a view of a regular Catia V5 drawing?

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for the stars also!

When I saw your spreadsheet, I thought "no way, too big & too complex." But I tried both ways, and both worked with satisfactory results (I think). Take a look at the screen shot attached. I'm using R18.

Copy & Paste resulted in an .ole object on the drawing that I could move and scale. And it's linked back to the Excel spreadsheet.

Surprisingly, the Table From CSV method worked fine (after I deleted all but the first worksheet), but it did need some work to format the table to match the spreadsheet. I could fix the sub-components in the PN column by merging cells and resizing columns. The extra colummns in the Material/Remarks can be deleted. No link, but I'm able to edit/add text, change text font & size, etc. Remember when working with a Table, always double click to edit it

And both printed fine also.

Thanks, perfect!
