brick veneer repair

50 year old two story building with brick veneer has no expansion joints and has cracked in all the usual places. Owner would like to repair and make it right.

Can brick be repaired and joints cut into existing, that would seem to be most logical but not sure how practical? What is typically done here?

are these cracks due to expansion of the bricks, if so these must be very old cracks. seems an aweful long time to ahev these cracks happening.

I can't see anything wrong with adding in joints that don't affect the structural integrity, but I also don't see them being much help now with growth .

It is probably tarpaper, 15 pounds per square. They got it from the roofer? Is the brickwork starting to pull away from the bldg.? If so may be cheaper to remove all the brick, salvage it, find some more the same style/color and redo the whole thing.
