How do I break the link back to the original CatPart and or Product?

In what way - if it is an external reference - contextual menu - isolate.
If you are in assembly mode and want to isolate a part -- double pick on product, select part, contextual menu -- componennts -- isolate
Can you be more descriptive if these 2 options do not work.

Regards,
Derek

I want to work on the part in different windows. But i need to save them as different parts and keep them from updating the main part.

Are you familiar with the File - New From command. This will make a new part from your existing, gives it a new name and new UUID number. If you work on the new part, it will not update your main part.

Derek
