I was wondering if anyone could describe how a breaker test panel operates. I know you connect your breaker to the panel and you simulate that the breaker opens and closes through push buttons. But does anyone have more details.

This type of test panel is typically used to operate an electrical charge-close-open C/B when it is outside of it's cubicle. It supplies the proper power and switching connections which are present in the switchboard to the same secondary contacts, typically by way of a wiring harness and plug.

Hi jasonmuneton1,

my experience is with a HV gas CB. it shows the operation of the breaker open and close contacts, resistance through the interruptor, travel curves of mechanism damping... let me know if there is something specific that you are looking for.

climb1, sounds like you are talking about a time travel analyser, the OP is asking about test stations, probally for a MV breaker.
