Branch connection

We are having a debate on if we should use Weldolets or regular pipe section welded to make branch connections.

I am browsing the web for any comparison.

Application is for light crude oil @ 350 GPM with 95 psi.

The reason for this debate is mainly if we can find a fitting where a instrumentation of 2" NPT connection can be fit on a 6" pipe. If we can't find the fitting then we have to make one and that is when the discussion started for using weldolets.

Thread-o-let should be the easiest instead of making a part.

I've used both - and prefer thread-o-lets when possible. (When allowed that is - some app's won't let me use threaded pipes.)

Tees? Sure.

Never a pipe-stub-into-a-pipe.
