Do small size Back Pressure Valves have smaller flow rate then the bigger size BPVs?

I am comparing the flow rates of 1.5'' and 2'' back pressure valves. I think 2'' valve should have much higher flow rate due to its bigger orifice size.
However, the flow rate of 1.5'' valve is actually a little bit higher. Both valves are installed on 2'' pipeline.
Any help?

May be you should provide details of the valves and the testing set up and result to make sure we understand you correctly on the BPV.

From your other posting of BPV, I am not sure you are understand fully about BPV.

Any valve have a flow capacity depending not on the nominal diameter, but on the characteristics (size and form) of the 'light opening' through the valve.

As known this is normally given by the Cv (or European Kv) value. This and the pressure difference between inlet and outlet side of the valve gives the flow.

For nearby smaller sizes it is quite common that Cv's might vary and be larger for smaller valves, depending of the valves exact inner trim and form.

The difference might also stem from uncorrect or varying measurement of flow data at site.
