Dear Eng-Tipers,

Can anyone recommend a book that actually shows spreadsheets or techniques to solve engineering problems? I need it for a practicing engineer.
TIA.

The only thing I can think of, off hand, are some university sites that I happened across when Googling a specific engineering problem. Nothing specific I can link now.

The other thing that comes to mind are several applications that are for sale that add-on to Excel. Not knowing what specific engineering problem you are looking at solving, I can't post relevant links and I'd rather than abuse the TOS of eng-tips by advertising links.

To answer your question specifically, I have not come across any Engineering for Excel books on the market. My advice, develop your own spreadsheet applications. You can verify the equations and accuracy, note your references, and control it user interface and overall usefulness. If you are trying to solve a specific Excel problem, you can post a "How do I?" type question here or the Google. (Google brings up many Excel specific boards with MS MVP answers.)

Was there something wrong with the 1514 finds on Amazon?

You do realize that "spreadsheet engineering" is even a suggested search item in Amazon?

Maybe what was wrong with the 1514 finds on Amazon was that there were 1514 of them.

I have a copy of Excel for Scientists and Engineers (Numerical Methods) by E. Joseph Billo (Wiley).

It's a good book and I'd recommend it for anyone looking to implement numerical methods in Excel. On the other hand if you are looking for specific engineering applications this may not be what you are looking for.
