Hi Guys

I was wondering if anybody knows of any industrial strength adhesives that would bond nylon to steel?

The application is a 2m long wear pad and bolts arent really ideal as the pad is difficult to access so need as much wear as possible.

The pad would be subject to high shear loads and salt spray conditions.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

doug223,

Nylon's chemical stability makes it hard to glue. Can you embed the stuff in a pocket somehow? Perhaps you can weld a barrier around it to keep it from sliding.

Have you searched Google?

What you need is countersunk flat head bronze screws with a deep wrenching feature, like a hex recess deeper than the head, or a hex bore all the way through the shank.
... Not that I've ever seen such a thing.
