bonding guy cables

Please understand that this is a structural engineer asking here:

Is the mere fact that there is a contact between guy cables connectors enough to provide bonding for a steel tower. The bottom of the guy cables is grounded to three 0.75-inch rods that are spaced 20 feet apart in triangular plan view and 20 feet deep. Or jumper across the conncetion points is required?
 
If the guy wires are simply resting on the structure the connection could develop a high resistance with corrosion products at the interface. You could use a type of grease available from lightning equipment suppliers ( e.g. FURZE in UK ) to seal the interface.
 
Suggestion: The guy cables provide the longer path and the higher resistance to a lightning strike. Therefore, currents in guys will be smaller.
