Hi all.
I'm having a little trouble with a Bill of Materials. I am generating a BOM for a large machine which contains a few sub-assemblies. The problem is that the BOM is listing each component of the sub-assembly and its quantity, etc. I need the entry to just show the name of the sub-assembly and the quantity of the sub-assembly, not the components.
For example, there is a sub-assembly called "20' Base" which is only used once in the machine but the BOM is listing side plate (2), top plate (1), end plate (2), etc.
I know there are options to group configurations but in this case I need to group parts which aren't configurations but individual parts. I tried naming each part (side plate, top plate, etc.) as "20' Base" and selected the option to group configurations with the same name as one item but this gives an incorrect quantity and groups other items further down the BOM which I don't want.
Is the best way of doing this to hide the rows for each sub-assembly component apart from one component so it only shows the Base entry once? Or am I totally missing something obvious! It seems there should be some option which allows you to group sub-assemblies in a BOM...
Any help is appreciated!
