Hi All,

I need to provide fasteners for DN3000 Butterfly valve to pipe flange connection.

Doubt: For such big Valves, is it a good practice to provide Hexagonal Bolts or Studs? Please suggest.

FYI: Thread size is M64.

Personally, I would use studs as recommended in piping specs. This provides greater flexibility to remove should the fastener seize.

*** Per ISO-4126, the generic term
'Safety Valve' is used regardless of application or design ***

*** 'Pressure-relief Valve' is the equivalent ASME/API term ***

There are no piping specs .... 7016 is making all of this up as he goes along

He will not share any piping specs he is supposed to use because there are none ....

His next question will will be about how to design a flange to mate up with his massive valve, what size flange thickness and what material to use for the bolts/studs and nuts ....

This is how things are slowly, incrementally done in the third world ...
