Boiler safety valve relief piping

Is relief piping required from the safety valve to the outside for a 200 HP low pressure steam heating boiler?

Check your local building codes.

AND also with your local boiler inspector....sometimes the building code guys guess at actual boiler codes and the boiler inspector has to slap them down.

If you discover it needs piped, be sure to configure the piping and supports properly as per ASME.
