Can someone give me the definition of these two tanks. In CSA B51-03 it says you have to have a 1/8" corrosion allowance for blowoff tanks. We have a blowdown tank. We were hoping that there was a difference so we didnt have to order new material. Thanks in advance.

Blowdown Tanks Vs. Blowoff Tanks

The ASME Code uses 'blowoff' to describe the bottom drum line taking out sediment and solids of boiler water. The upper steam drum with line for continuous / surface removal of the floaters would be 'blowdown' line. The blowdown flow would usually be much less volume, so blowdown tank would be smalller. The 'blowoff' tank might be 10x size of the blowdown tank. The intermittent operation of blowoff tank results in more corrosion similar to condensate lines.
Since you are dealing with CSA-B51-03, you will want to confirm whether it is same as ASME terminology.
