HI,
what happens if a centrifugal compessor runs in blocked operation by closing the isolation valve on the discharge site. What is the "shut of pressure" if there is any.

best regards

You will"pop" your safety valve on the final stage.

Hello chief,
what would happen if the PRV set pressure is above compressor head and there is not anti-surge control. By slowly closing the isolation valve the compressor will reach the surge limit and what is next? What pressure occurs before the machine gets broken due to vibrations or temperature .

The published head at the speed it is running at. If the head is 8000 feet and the inlet density is 1 lb/Ft^3 and the suction pressure is 100 psia, then 100 + 8000 * 1 /144 = 156 psia.

Re dcasto:
That means that a flow below the surge limit the pressure will not drop. The region between zero flow and surge limit is normally not defined or indicated by a falling dotted line.
