I am having a strange problem when I use refedit to edit a block. When I edit the block and save the edit, the block scales itself to some random scale(always smaller) and is moved from it's original location. I can get around it by exploding the block, but I'd like the get to the bottom of it.

Thanks in advance.

Why are you using refedit to edit the block? Is there a reason you aren't using the Block Editor? What version of AutoCAD are you using?

Not sure how your block was created but it sounds like it may either be nested in another block or is inserted with the items you described overridden in the insert. Editing will "update" the original block defs which may be the unwanted results you are seeing. A guess.

I'm using AutoCAD 2005 and I use the refedit because all I have to do to edit the block is double-click. I have a lisp routine that I found that will edit blocks, but sometimes that doesn't work so well either. Is there another block editor out there that works better?

The block is not nested under anything else. I created it using copy, paste as block.

when refedit a block do it before it is being scaled.
