Hello,
As a mechanical engineer, I don't know much about using and programming controllers. However I find that very usefull and I would like to learn more about it.

I have heard that it was possible to program controllers like PIC with simulink diagrams.
Is anyone here is used to it?
Is it difficult to use?
Is there any free softwares that could do the same (create a program using diagrams that can be converted in assembly language)?
On which controllers do these softwares could work?

Thanks

Search engines like Google are very useful, I found this example of Simulink programming for PIC:

Of course a PLC is different than a PIC, but I'll let you google that yourself. I think you'll find most PLC programmers just use the software provided by the PLC manufacturer.

Best Regards,
Sean
